Kevin Christensen is an artist / producer from Portland, OR who composes music for film and television. He is described as an artist having a talent for coordinating melody into a detailed orchestration of ease and sensibility that is purely captivating. His music is a blend of real instruments and computer generated sounds which typically cover a range of styles in the contemporary neighborhood... chillout, dub, electronica, dance, lounge, trip-hop, jazz, sometimes a feel-good ride, sometimes a darker element... often something else altogether... but always groovy! Kevin has just released his debut CD "portion of space" which is a collection of work that intertwines and fuses eclectic and poignant music displaying both his strength as a composer and his craftsmanship as a producer. * Starting to work on the next solo CD... gonna be uber-groovy...
* Look for the upcoming collaborative release of "Drum Dynasty" with musicians from Seven Against Thebes... it's a radical double-CD featuring authentic world drumming blended with an electronic backdrop... explores African, Algerian, Moroccan, Haitian, Greek and Arabic influences. Quite Kewl. Due out in the fall.
* "Willatuk: the Legend of Seattle's Sea Serpent," a very interesting documentary with a twist from Blue Wood Films.
* "Last Call Before Sunset," a clubbish underground dark feature film from Mountain Pictures.
* "The Virus that Causes AIDS," an insightful documentary from The Twyman Creative.
* "Donnie's Curse," from Deus Productions... a dark drama film about a father who's been marked by the mob.
* "Monster Mountain," from Mountain Pictures. As implied, a terrifying monster movie.
* “Buzzlighter 10: Direct Connections" ...current release in a popular series from Shut Eye Records. The Buzzlighter series features a collection of artists from around the globe.
* The CD “portion of space” is being described as... "having incredible atmospherics combined with sensitive themes and melodies... the type of music that sucks you into an unconscious library of sound while leaving you totally unaware of current surroundings... a polished album that's both feel-good and adrenaline pumping... a laid back trip to another planet... a truly hypnotizing effect..."
~ Those are the recent major projects...
~ Thanks you all & Cheers!
